State Testing Spring 2024

Havre de Grace Middle School will be taking the Maryland Comprehensive Assessment Program (MCAP) tests in March, April, and May. All students will have 4 sections of ELA testing lasting 70 minutes per day and 4 sections of Math testing lasting 40 minutes per session over 2 days. Eighth grade students will also be tested in the areas of Science (MISA) and Social Studies. Each of these tests is similar to the Math assessment with 4 sections over 2 days.

Please mark your calendars with the dates below and help your child to arrive on time for school on these days. Students who are late or absent must make up the test at a later time which may interfere with classroom instruction time. We ask that any doctor appointments or other obligations be scheduled for dates other than the ones for testing. Testing will take place in the mornings some time between  8:15 and  10:15. We greatly appreciate your cooperation!

Testing for 6th, 7th, & 8th Grades
ELA MCAP: April 15th through 18th
Math MCAP: May 21st and 22nd

Testing for 8th Grade Only
Science (MISA): March 6th and 7th
Social Studies: May 7th and 8th
